Sigríður Erla Hákonardóttir - Creative Technology

Sigríður Erla Hákonardóttir will graduate from Creative Technology with her film "Dandy"

Sigga and Dandy are dissimilar friends who experience unexpected events. Dandý invites Sigga to her house where they take revenge on a boy they know well, so they do a seance and cast a spell on him out in the woods.

What is the first film experience you remember that had an impact on you?

I just remember that my mother watched many old movies and shows with me like "The Sound of Music" and "Anne of Green Gables" when I was little and then when I went to the cinema to see "Aladdin", it was the best. I wanted to be Princess Jasmine and fly on a magic carpet.

What fascinates you about filmmaking?

The innovation. Innovating and creating a new idea and then to see the result on the big screen. When you have finished all the work and then finally sit down and see the end product, it is the best, you are filled with pride and joy.

Why did you choose Creative Technology?

I got to know the technology in FÁ and was very interested from that point on. So I decided to go to The Film School, which had been a dream for a long time. When I was a teenager, I carried an old Sony camcorder that my mother had everywhere, everything I did was recorded and all kinds of fun stuff was filmed, our impressions of "Who wants to be a millionaire" and the movie "The Blair Witch Project" and other jokes, and then we watched and laughed a lot.

Did anything particularly surprise you during your studies?

Yes, at first I thought I couldn't do it. I did not have enough self assurance, but then it all came together and I became more confident with myself. I saw that it is not as difficult as I thought. The teachers here are also so much fun. So you could say I surprised myself.

And what does the future look like?

I sincerely hope that I will get a good job in the technology sector, it is my dream and I will try to do my best. I'm most excited about editing and manning the camera.
