Hjördís Ósk Kristjánsdóttir - Skapandi Tækni

Hjördís Ósk Kristjánsdóttir will be graduating from Creative Technology with her film "Good day"

The film is about Tinna, a single mother of two that oversleeps on a very important day and pays the price. In the hustle and bustle of the day she forgets what really matters and takes it out on her children. She does not realize what she is doing until her 10 year old daughter loses her patience and makes herself heard

What fascinates you about filmmaking?

What fascinates me about filmmaking is how creative it is and how much changes on set or even in the editing room. I love the togetherness that comes from making films and how a good crew can make the most amazing things happen.

Why did you choose Creative Technology?

I chose Creative Technology mainly out of an interest in editing. I had wanted to go to The Film School for many years but never had the courage, but I have no regrets about making my dream come true.

Did anything particularly surprise you during your studies?

What surprised me during the studies was that I got to learn so much more than just what I was interested in, everything related to technology, and it's really great to see and learn everything related to making a film become a reality.

And what does the future look like?

The future is bright. As it stands now, I'm focusing on graduation, but in the new year I'll be going on the hunt for editing work. I have gotten to know a lot of people in the business over these two years and I've learned more than I thought, so I'm not worried about the future.
