Graduation Spring 2022 - Davíð Orri Arnarsson, Directing and Producing
Myrkur is a short film that is set in the fictional universe of SCP
In this particular story we follow 2 operators of the paramilitary branch of the organization as they attempt to secure and contain an anomaly that has been discovered in an old abandoned SCP outpost that is located in a small town called Akranes in Iceland
What is your first memory related to films?
Watching the first Harry Potter films on tape as a child over and over again, it was so much fun sitting in front of the tape recorder and waiting while rewinding the film
What fascinates you about film making?
All the work behind it, most people think it's just recording something that is then thrown together but not thinking of the hundreds of hours that go into each picture
Why did you choose Directing and Producing?
I always wanted to go to Creative Technology as I am very interested in technology and everything around it, but after I started working in the "business" myself, my interest in film soon shifted to Directing and Production
Anything that surprised you?
No, not really
And what does the future look like?
Of course going to work and make movies, I would like to get into production and then make myself known as a director
