What is your first memory related to films?
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man came out when I was three years old and completely captivated me. When I was not watching it, I was crawling on the floor in my Spider-Man costume pretending to climb walls. Spider-Man is a movie that made me want to tell stories
What fascinates you about film making?
Movies are not just one art form. They are a collection of them all. Movies combine creative writing, acting, illustrations, music and many other arts to tell one story. Films are also collaborative art where dozens of artists and technicians do their part to make an idea a reality
Why did you choose Screenwriting and Directing?
I've been writing stories since I learned to read and I've wanted to be a director since before I knew what a director was. When I first heard about directors and what they do, a light came on in my head because this job description matched exactly what I wanted to be since I was a child. So for the kid who wanted to write his own stories and bring his vision to the screen, the choice was pretty obvious
Anything that surprised you?
That flaming out is a sneaky demon. Watch out, guys
And what does the future look like?
I always have some ideas floating around. I'm going to pitch a TV series as soon as possible. In addition, I am developing some screenplays. In the meantime, I'm working on sets
