Anastasija Timinska - Acting

Anastasija Timinska will be graduating from Acting with her film “Natasha got this”

The film is about Natasha, a 16-year-old Russian girl who has always been lonely. Her parents are divorced, she has no friends, yet she is still content with life. She likes her quiet life. Everything has been very fine until her mother suddenly decides to turn her life upside down and make her move to Iceland. She goes to a new school where she doesn't understand the language and she feels like an outsider. She feels like she is completely different from everyone else. She really wants to fit in with the group and she thinks the best way is to date a boy that all the girls want to be with

What is the first film experience you remember that had an impact on you?

When I was a kid and lived in Latvia, I went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks" in the cinema. I was so amazed, how had they managed to find a talking squirrel? Then my mother told me that they don't exist in real life and these were real actors speaking for them and the squirrels themselves were computer animated. I must say I was a little hurt, but then after a while I had an idea; if I were an actress I could be anyone

What fascinates you about filmmaking?

It's such an exciting world. As an actress, I have the opportunity to play anything. Otherwise, I think the movie world is like a fairy tale world. We all need a little adventure every now and then. Movies are a part of our daily life. I like to think that I can be a part of some great story

Why did you choose Acting?

It's a little bit related to the fact that I love to see how much more I can be than just myself. I like to act. I have acted in different plays as a child, this experience of being able to be anyone is amazing. I like to be challenged.

Can you play a ghost? Yes please! But what about a little princess? Of course! A feeling of letting yourself go all the way in, creating an imaginary world, creating a whole new persona in my mind. It's all so exciting

Did anything particularly surprise you during your studies?

Yes and no, it was a little surprising how much we learned in such a short time. But I was in such a place when I applied that I was open to everything.

And what does the future look like?

I am very optimistic about my future. I feel like as long as I'm trying and doing my best, everything will be fine. I'm ready and I know it's going to be a little difficult, but no job is easy. The plan is to keep applying for roles, also try working on a set, maybe as a make-up artist and PA, but definitely not stop applying for roles
