Ingibjorg Jenny Johannesdottir

Ingibjorg Jenny Johannesdottir is graduating from Directing and Producing with her film “The Paladins”

“Three pubescent boys shape each other in gestures of love and brotherhood. They embark on a journey that includes laughter, crying and stories by the campfire where the impending future comes at them with frightening speed.”

Ingibjorg Jenny tells us

"Elin Palsdottir and I made this graduation film together. We have gotten to know each other well over the last 2 years and we realized that we both have a big event in our lives that connects us and we decided to write and direct a short film based on that experience.

I've always been very interested in movies, but it was not until I started making yearly celebration videos at my workplace, that I truly became interested in filmmaking.

I originally signed up for Screenwriting and Directing, but after the interview I decided to move on to Directing and Producing. In the interview, I chatted with Hrafnkel Stefansson, the director of studies. He explained both paths to me and I thought the production path suited me better. I am very happy to have made this decision. I find the production aspect very entertaining and I can see myself in that part in the future. "

"Many things have surprised me since I started my studies. I've learned so much. I realized, for example, everything that I did not know about the film industry and everything behind the scenes I had not known.

The students and teachers are what make this school so great. Social networking is so important in this industry, as the social life at school is very good, and I have gotten to know so many great people I call my friends today and I look forward to working with them in the future.

In the future, there is so much I would like to do. The dream is to establish my own production company in Iceland. But first I want to work on sets and gain experience."
