The authors are Elin Palsdottir, Ingibjorg Jenny Johannesdottir and Birta Rut Tiasha Sigfusdottir

We got to learn a little more about Birta Rut, who will graduate on the 12th of June.

Where did your interest in acting and filmmaking come from?

"I've always wanted to be an actress, ever since I was a kid. As a brown little girl, I did not see a lot of actors who looked like me in Icelandic material, but fortunately things are changing, and I want to show kids who look like me that anything is possible."

Was there anything particularly surprising about the studies?

"There were a lot of things that surprised me, but what surprised me the most was how demanding character work was. Feeling everything your character feels will always be a bit freaky."

Any enjoyable memories from your studies?

"When we were in class with the 3rd semester students and someone accidentally locked us in the classroom. Everyone was so used to hearing us scream that they ignored us when we pleaded for help."

So what are the next steps, future plans?

"I want to educate myself more in acting. The plan is to apply to the Academy of the Arts. I want to act in both television and theater."
