Haraldur A. Karlsson, a graduation student from Kvimyndaskóli Íslands, staged and directed Lion King in Vestmannaeyjar on Saturday 6th of November. This is the first time that Lion King is staged in Iceland. The house was packed on premier day and according to Haraldur "It went great". This performance is in the honer of Leikfélags Vestmannaeyjar, 100 years birthday and Haraldur seas that he is honored and proved of how well it went. All shows that have been advertised are sold out and according to Haraldur they are planing to show it, until after new year.
The rehearsal period took about 8 weeks and preparation before that took 2 weeks, so all in all it took around 10 weeks to put on this show. Allot of promising actors are in the play and many with lots of experience, also there are many kids in the play and most of them are stepping on stage for the first time.
