School Objectives
The Icelandic Film School serves to support and reinforce both the Icelandic and global film and television industries. Our objectives are:
- To discover talented people and provide them with a solid theoretical and practical education which prepares them to either enter directly into the workplace or to pursue continued studies in filmmaking abroad.
- To train students in the understanding and use of film grammar and increase the use of visual media in the Icelandic community.
- To promote the export of Icelandic filmmaking and motivate our students to go out into the world at large and make their mark.
- To keep a close eye on emerging trends and innovations in the production and distribution of visual media and make sure our curriculum evolves to meet the new challenges and employment opportunities that arise.
- To offer interested and talented people, regardless of nationality, race or religion, an exciting educational alternative in Iceland.
