The Icelandic Film School has been preparing students for careers in the film and television industry for almost twenty years. Our program consists of two years of hands-on instruction within a diverse and challenging curriculum. Our four different departments - Directing and Producing, Technical, Screenwriting and Directing, and Acting - help to ensure that each of our students finds his/her own creative path and enters their chosen career with all the tools necessary to succeed at the highest level.
As Icelanders we're proud of our one-of-a-kind cultural and geological landscape, and our storytelling traditions that reach back to the ancient Icelandic sagas. Our location between North America and Europe gives us a unique perspective on filmmaking, one that draws from the best traditions of both continents. With the help of our student body full of creative and passionate individuals and a faculty of award-winning professionals from both sides of the Atlantic, we've created a magnificent new film center to carry our storytelling traditions into the future.
